Brief introduction of the branch
The China branch of the BRICS Future Network Research Institute is a research institute in Shenzhen to further advance BRICS practical cooperation in the field of information and communication technology (ICT) .
On August 6,2019, the China branch of BRICS Institute for the future of networks was inaugurated in Shenzhen. The communications departments of China, Cambodia, Egypt, Laos, Russia, South Africa, the Philippines and other BRICS countries and other developing countries, and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) , the Global Association of Mobile Communication Systems (GSMA) and other international organizations attended the meeting.
The China branch of the BRICS Future Network Research Institute will make full use of both international and domestic markets and two kinds of resources, and rely on the advantages of Shenzhen in terms of policy, capital, technology and industrial clusters, and the comprehensive advantages of the national government think tank of the China Information and Communication Research Institute. China will promote practical cooperation with BRICS and other developing countries on future cyber technology innovation, Policy Research, industrial promotion, infrastructure building, international cooperation and personnel training.
According to the development plan, the China branch will adopt the open innovation mechanism, gather domestic and foreign advantage resources, start the construction of scientific research platform, cultivate the ICT innovation ability, continuously optimize the talent structure, and construct the future network innovation development ecology, building A WORLD-CLASS ICT professional think tank and technology industry innovation platform. The China branch will expand the market demand of the countries and regions along the “Belt and Road” of the BRICS and other developing countries through complementary skills, collaborative cooperation and market demand, china will focus on international cooperation in the areas of new network architecture, new-generation mobile communications, industrial internet, artificial intelligence, vehicle networking, high-speed intelligent optical network, network and information security.
The establishment of the China branch of the BRICS Academy for the Future Network is an important step in implementing the consensus reached at the BRICS summit. It will further enhance BRICS cooperation with other developing countries and promote innovative applications of future network technologies, it is of great significance to develop digital economy by prospering eucalyptus.

On June 5, the first Council of the China branch of the BRICS Future Network Research Institute was held in Shenzhen.
2019
On August 6,2019, the China branch of the BRICS Academy of Future Networks was opened in Shenzhen.
During the G20 summit in Osaka, Japan, in June 2019, BRICS leaders agreed on the importance of continuing BRICS cooperation in science, technology, innovation and entrepreneurship, including practical cooperation projects such as the BRICS academy for the future network.
2018
In 2018, the fourth BRICS Telecommunication Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina officially approved the establishment of the BRICS Academy for the future network, to encourage and support the efforts of all countries to build up their networks based on the mechanism of the BRICS council.
2017
In 2017, India and China jointly led a focus group with relevant stakeholders to study and formulate the BRICS Academy for the future.
2016
In 2016, the ICT development equation and action plan of the BRICS countries was released, putting forward the concept of the BRICS academy for the future, with a view to realizing the complementarity and synergy of multiple ICT technologies among BRICS members.

The mission and vision of the China Branch of BRICS Institute for the Future of Network Technology: to pool the domestic and international resources of the future of network technology, layout new network architecture, 5G ICT and other cutting-edge Technologies; Building A world-class professional think tank in the ICT field; promoting in-depth cooperation among BRICS and “BRICS +” countries in the field of new ICT technologies; and assisting BRICS countries to enhance their influence in network technology innovation and industries in the future.
China branch will be based on five areas of work: first, promoting network infrastructure connectivity; Second, international testing and certification and market access services; third, the future network technology and international application promotion; Fourth, international cooperation and exchanges and personnel training; fifth, Industrial Policy and International Internet Governance Order Research. By 2022, the China branch will achieve five major goals: First, Technological innovation and application promotion; Second, Industrial policy research, establishment of industrial development database and publication of series of research reports; Third, Ponstruction of multi-functional industrial innovation platform, the BRICS open innovation platform shall be established, and an infrastructure test platform shall be established. Fourth, international testing and certification shall be carried out, and testing and certification laboratories shall be built, and test and certification capacities shall be established. Fifth, develop international cooperation and talent exchange and establish ICT standard forum and training center.

Organisation structure
The Chinese branch will realize the dean responsibility system under the leadership of the board of governors. The branch will set up the secretariat of the BRICS Research Council and the Strategic Advisory Committee under the Governing Council. There are five centers under the branch, namely, General Management Department, Industry & Policy Department, International Cooperation Department, Business Development Department, Network Innovation Department. Adopt the operation mode of "demand-oriented, project-driven, collaborative innovation and results transformation". Carry out research and business cooperation for BRICS and "BRICS +" national scientific research institutions, industrialization departments and non-governmental institutions.
