On January 13, Academician Zhou Ji of the Chinese Academy of Engineering stated at the 2020 China Intelligent Manufacturing System Solutions Conference and the Alliance’s General Assembly that intelligent manufacturing represents a monumental historical opportunity for China’s manufacturing industry.
During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, China must coordinate resources nationwide, concentrate efforts on major initiatives, and comprehensively advance intelligent manufacturing to achieve digital and networked transformation across the manufacturing sector. Specific measures include: (1) launching the ‘Major Initiative for Digital Transformation of Manufacturing’; (2) implementing the ‘Major Special Project on Intelligent Manufacturing’; (3) synergistically advancing these two initiatives while reinforcing the foundational capabilities for intelligent manufacturing—particularly by aligning and coordinating with the ‘Industrial Foundation Rebuilding Project’ and the ‘National Industrial Internet Special Project’; and (4) continuing the Alliance’s contributions toward promoting intelligent manufacturing.
