On January 7, Pan Jianwei’s research team at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) published a paper titled 'An Integrated Space–Ground Quantum Communication Network over 4,600 Kilometers' in the journal *Nature*, demonstrating that the conditions for practical, wide-area quantum secure communication technology have preliminarily matured.
